TO LOVE, TEACH, SERVE & GROW
Our Mission
TO LOVE THE LORD
|
Deuteronomy 6:5
We want to love the Lord according to His desires, not our own. Accordingly, our worship, doctrine and practice is intended to honor and please the Lord God, not ourselves. The Bible tells us that “We love him, because he first loved us.” The first and most important part of our mission is to introduce people to a Saviour that loves them.
TO TEACH HIS WORD
Deuteronomy 6:7
|
We believe that “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” As believers we are to declare and teach the whole counsel of God, not simply the parts that we choose to enjoy. To learn more about Jesus, we must learn all about Jesus.
TO SERVE HIS WILL
|
Deuteronomy 6:13–15
Jesus said “the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” He further stated “as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.” The Bible says in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
Just so, we are not sent to condemn, but to tell people of the Gospel (Good News) that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, loves you and came to pay the penalty for your sins, and that you can be saved. To serve God’s will, we are to communicate God’s message of love for the lost, and to show them that God is “not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
TO GROW IN GRACE
Deuteronomy 6:16–18
|
Throughout all that we do, we strive to grow closer to God; through worship, by learning more about Him, and by serving Him. “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.” As His church, our mission is to help people to grow in Christ-likeness and to live fulfilling, joyful, and purposeful lives that are pleasing to Him.
